Would fundamentalists respect secularism more if they were inconvenienced by laws inspired by other religions?

I doubt that the die-hard fundamentalists would get the point. You see, they're right and everyone else is wrong. They would continue to insist that their pet laws were for the good of society and the pet laws of other religions were evil.
