actually, you got that story wrong. God did not afflict Job with anything. He allowed Satan to do it. God even said, you may take his wealth, ect, but you must not lay a finger on him. So God did not afflict Job. Second, God was not tricked by Satan. Satan said that Job only worshiped God because God had blessed him. Satan said that if God allowed everything to be taken from Job, he would curse God. Since God did not believe Satan, and wanted to show that Job was indeed righteous, he allowed Satan to take everything from Job. But Job still praised God. Then after this whole ordeal, God made Job more prosperous then before. Does that clear it up a but for you?
