Hard drive transfering/converting issues?

Most hard drive manufacturers offer free software to copy the contents of your old drive onto a new hard drive. Go to the manufacturer's website and download / install their backup software, then use that to copy everything to the new drive. There should also be an option to make the new drive the primary boot drive. Then it's a matter of physically removing the old drive and replacing it with the new drive ... this isn't very complicated if you know what you're doing, but if it's your first time pay close attention to cable position and jumpers (not an issue on SATA drives). Again, check your HD manufacturer's website for FAQs and proper instructions.
